Go to settings, select Wi-Fi, choose the network, provide the password (if necessary), and connect to connect the Kindle to Wi-Fi. When connected, the Wi-Fi icon will appear. This makes it possible to access online functions like email and web browsing, browse the Kindle shop, sync the library, and download books.
